What SatSpeedCheck collects

SatSpeedCheck does not require an account or sign-up. The site does not ask you to provide personal information to use its speed test, calculators, benchmark pages, guides, or dashboard.

The speed test, calculators, and photo obstruction analysis run in your browser. SatSpeedCheck does not receive or store your speed-test results, calculator inputs, or obstruction photo on SatSpeedCheck servers. The pages still load the third-party Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense scripts described below, and the speed test sends real test traffic to Cloudflare.

Speed tests and Cloudflare

The speed test uses browser fetchrequests to Cloudflare's public endpoints at speed.cloudflare.com: GET requests to /__down for download and HTTP latency measurements, and POST requests to /__up for upload measurements. These are real network requests from your device. Cloudflare is a third-party service that receives and processes that test traffic.

Local storage and cookies

Test results and history are stored locally on your device in browser localStorage under the key satspeedcheck:history:v2; older v1 records are retained locally as a migration source. Clearing your browser data removes that local history.

SatSpeedCheck uses Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js), measurement ID G-7NT4DCBXTY, to collect anonymous usage statistics. Google Analytics may collect usage data and use cookies or similar technologies when you visit a page.

SatSpeedCheck uses Google AdSense, publisher ID ca-pub-6660696930590269, to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info, or manage cookies through your browser or device controls.

Affiliate links

Some SatSpeedCheck pages contain affiliate links to third-party products (for example, a VPN service). If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you and without changing the price you pay. Affiliate links are clearly labelled where they appear, and they do not influence our editorial recommendations — we only link to products we consider genuinely relevant, and we describe their tradeoffs honestly. Affiliate outbound links use a rel="sponsored" attribute.

How to remove your local data

Because speed-test history is stored in your browser on your own device, you can remove it by clearing site data, localStorage, or browsing data for SatSpeedCheck in your browser settings.

Children's privacy

SatSpeedCheck is not directed at children under 13.
