How to Check Your Starlink WiFi Speed and Signal Strength

Most confusion here comes from lumping three separate measurements into one phrase. Before you test anything, know which one you actually care about:

How to check your Starlink WiFi speed

That number is what your devices really experience in that spot. But one WiFi number in isolation cannot tell you why it is what it is — for that you need a second test.
Run the same test again on Ethernet, plugged straight into the router. Now you have a comparison. If the wired result is strong but the WiFi result in the far room is much lower, your WiFi coverage is the bottleneck and Starlink is fine. How to check WiFi signal strength (the honest way)
Here is the part people get wrong: a browser cannot read your WiFi signal strength. Our speed test, or any web speed test, measures throughput and latency, not the radio link between your device and the router. Anyone claiming a web widget measured your signal strength is mistaken. To see signal strength, use the device itself:

Signal strength is reported in dBm, where a number closer to zero is stronger. The third measurement is the satellite link itself, and it lives in the Starlink app, not in any WiFi tool. Open the app and look at the Statistics and Obstructions screens: they show outages, obstruction events, and connection quality over time. That is the health of the link between your dish and the network, completely separate from your indoor WiFi. Fixing weak Starlink WiFi

Run a speed test over WiFi in the room where you actually use the connection, then run the same test again on Ethernet plugged straight into the router.
